About Claudia Olson

    I have a Masters of Acupuncture from the Maryland University of Integrative Health (formerly known as Tai Sophia Institute), the first accredited school of acupuncture in the United States, and am licensed to practice acupuncture in Maryland. In addition, I have a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the National University of Ireland.

     I have been practicing Tai Chi since 1984 and teaching Tai Chi and Qi Gong since 2008.  I moved to Maryland in 1991 and am delighted to call this home.

Re: acupuncture treatments before & after the flu shot:

      As far as I’m concerned, those treatments were an unqualified success! 

I experienced a mild reaction following the first treatment---basically, I got to clear out my sinuses (which I hadn’t realized were clogged).  Because of the minor sinus problem, I lost my first cup  of coffee on Wednesday morning.  No biggie as far as I’m concerned; I’m on Plavix, and sometimes it has that effect on me (yes, it’s a known side effect).

     But aside from some very minor bruising (another Plavix side effect), I’ve had no other undesirable effects from the needles.  And the benefits are wonderful. I don’t have the aches, the low-grade fever, or the fatigue that I’ve experienced in the past.  I’m ever so glad for that!

     Thanks again for passing along the word about Claudia’s treatment offer.  I’m very pleased, and would recommend it to anyone who wants to try it.
